MK2 is a satellite partner for high-quality urban transformation. We combine expertise from the cultural and creative industries with urban management. Our work is based on ecosystem thinking; we create value from what already exists. We believe in collective innovation and transdisciplinary cooperation as a basic building block for sustainability. We combine foresight with resonance and resilience.
MEDIUM
CULTURE
CULTURAL SPATIAL DEVELOPMENT
We use culture as a strategic instrument to create new approaches and utilise different perspectives for the development of new approaches. We understand culture in the narrower and broader sense - both as an impact-orientated design tool and as a social driving force.
High-quality inner city development is a joint task. Instead of isolated added value, cultural spatial development focuses on collective benefits. In order to realise identity-creating and sustainable projects, culture is ultimately what holds everything together.
AMBITION
EFFECTIVE SPACES FOR PEOPLE
More than just a beautiful built environment, we strive for spaces that can be appropriated and lived in. These are culturally valuable spaces, both in terms of building culture and sustainability. The aim is to create an interactive system of relationships between people, space and culture.
In doing so, we are pursuing a holistic approach that endeavours to combine overarching potentials. To this end, we address the acute challenges in order to pave the way towards sustainable spatial development. The medium of culture acts as a kit between the built landscape and society.

SYSTEM
CHANGE
CONNECTION THROUGH CULTURE
Spatial development serves to shape our living space. The time is ripe to recognise the scope for densification, generate collective added value and promote sustainable developments. It is not only the demands on space that are complex, but also the effects of urban transformation.
In order for changes to have a positive impact, new processes and new approaches are needed, and transdisciplinary ones at that. Together, the immense potential of existing knowledge can be utilised, holistic approaches can be developed and a collective vision can be pursued. We are convinced that together we can actively shape an urban future.

STUDIO
CŒUR & COURAGE
MK2 is committed to places worth living in and a vibrant culture. We make developments tangible, impact tangible and ensure that existing resources are utilised effectively. We do this by connecting people in spaces with culture.
From forward-looking strategies and transdisciplinary, iterative processes to tried-and-tested concepts and acceptance-promoting activations, we focus on making things tangible. To this end, we work in an interdisciplinary network.
